NCNK, in partnership with the East-West Center (EWC), has launched an update for the joint North Korea in the World project. The update, comprised of an innovative dataset and analysis on twenty years’ worth of high-level North Korean delegations abroad, offers new insights into the challenges and opportunities presented by North Korea’s foreign linkages. This update is part of an ongoing effort between the NCNK and EWC's North Korea in the World project in providing researchers, policymakers, journalists, and the general public with easily-accessible information on North Korea’s external diplomatic and economic relations.

"Although North Korea can be opaque in many ways, its reputation as a hermit kingdom is clearly inaccurate," says Keith Luse, Executive Director of NCNK. “Pyongyang has cultivated ties across disparate parts of the globe, which have helped North Korea stay resilient in the face of significant economic and diplomatic pressure over its nuclear program.
