Deborah Fikes is a member of Council on Foreign Relations and serves on the CFR Religion Advisory Committee. She is an executive board director of International Center for Religion and Diplomacy (ICRD) in Washington D.C. In addition to her involvement with ICRD, Deborah serves on the board of the Arms Control Association and is an ambassador for Oxfam/ Sisters of the Planet. She advises various non-profit organizations that hold consultative status at the United Nations and has built relationships of trust with UN Permanent missions in New York and Geneva. She has traveled extensively over the past 20 years, including DPRK, but is a native Texan completing college degrees at Texas A&M and the University of Texas. She also holds a graduate degree from the University of Oxford (UK) in International Law specializing in humanitarian/ human rights.
